EVICT THE UNITED NATIONS

[Published in Newsmax Show UN the Door | Newsmax.com]

It's time for the United Nations (UN) to leave America.

The UN has definitely overstayed its welcome.  Recent remarks by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and the overwhelming adoption of a Hamas inspired resolution by the General Assembly, crossed the line of decency.

These actions should be the last of many straws that the UN has heaped on American soil.

The UN’s being on the wrong side of issues is terrible by any measure.  It turned a blind eye to the tens of millions killed by Communism.  The UN continues to ignore the lives destroyed by slavery and tribal wars.  The UN ignores those suffering under tyrants who lead many of their member nations. The UN ignores how corruption and waste infests every aspect of its operations.

On December 10, 1945, the U.S. Congress formally invited the United Nations to have its headquarters in America.  Congress can formally uninvite the UN.

The New York City School System spends $80 million a year for educating the children of UN Diplomats. It spends $8 million a year on protecting UN Diplomats and handling the traffic snarls during the annual opening of the General Assembly.  The U.S. State Department spends $31 million a year on protecting UN Diplomats.

NYC annually loses $72 million in property tax revenue as the UN Headquarters sits on tax exempt land. UN employees are tax exempt from federal and state income taxes.  Annually, this revenue loss is approximately $400 million in federal and state taxes and $26 million for NYC.

The NYC government will not miss $16 million in unpaid parking tickets from UN Diplomats.

The U.S. will not miss it.  Intelligence agencies consistently describe the United Nations as a “spy nest”.  On February 28, 2022, the Biden Administration exposed and expelled 12 spies within Russia’s UN delegation.  How many spies are operating under diplomatic cover among the 193 member delegations?

So where should the United Nations go?  Johannesburg, South Africa.

The current political environment of South Africa is a United Nations creation.  Starting on November 6, 1962, South Africa’s government was singled-out for extinction.  Over the years, harsher measures were implemented to pressure South African leaders to share power with their native population.  This included suspending South Africa’s UN Membership on November 14, 1974.  In 1994, the UN welcomed South Africa back into the fold after democratic reforms were implemented.

Moving the UN to Johannesburg would bring its policies “home to roost”.

Johannesburg has the third highest crime rate in Africa.  While it is cheaper to live there than NYC, it has terrible public transportation, high air pollution, and prone to power outages.

Third world dictators may have difficulty enticing their delegations to work in Johannesburg once the swanky apartments and lavish NYC expense account restaurants are a thing of the past.

The most compelling reason for the United Nations to move to Johannesburg is the BRICS.

Formed in 2010, the BRICS nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa have established an alternative global reality to the G7 and G20 nations.  The BRICS nations hope to overtake the western-oriented groups of nations as the focus of 21st Century economic and political vitality.

Moving the UN to Johannesburg places it at the center of BRICS’ geopolitics. That is a plus for them.

The $2 billion in local job creation would be the West’s final gift to South Africa’s economy.

It is also a plus for the G7/G20 (all BRICS countries are members of the G20).  Having the UN “out of sight, out of mind” places it where it should be - on the other side of the planet wallowing in its anti-West, anti-freedom, anti-capitalist agenda.  The rants of its leaders and its resolutions will not have the same “gravitas” deprived of its “New York City, USA” imprimatur.  UN diplomats will not have easy access to the U.S. media being 7,900 miles away.

Having the United Nations out of the United States would be a giant step forward in clearing the West’s political landscape.

Congress can go on the record now for sending the UN packing. It will take a Republican President to make it a reality.

ENLIGHTENING OUR FUTURE

The United Nations International Day of Light, on May 16, commemorates the first successful use of a laser.  This year, there is much to celebrate.

Awareness and acceptance of Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy have witnessed historic strides over the last twelve months, saving lives and bringing hope to millions.

PBM Therapy is the process where infra-red and near infrared light, when directed at parts of the body with the right intensity, stimulates mitochondria to repair and restore cell function and reduce inflammation.  It is a natural process aiding a natural process within our body’s 37 trillion cells.

PBM Therapy’s efficacy is now supported by over 700 Randomized Clinical Trials (RCTs) and 4,000 lab research studies, many published in leading scientific journals, including the Lancet and the British Medical Journal.

During this past year, evidence of PBM Therapy’s viability as a pain treatment option was presented at medical conferences, to the U.S. Congress, and to the White House as a potential solution to the opioid crisis.

PBM Therapy’s use is rapidly expanding in three important medical areas.

On May 9, 2019, Admiral Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services, opened the Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force meeting by declaring, “We cannot solve America’s Opioid Crisis without solving America’s Pain Crisis”.

A National Institutes of Health (NIH) study estimated that over 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain.  This is costing them $600 billion a year in medical treatments. Science Daily and the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) documented America’s annual costs of chronic pain at $635 billion, including lost productivity. Those turning to opioids and other pain medications, legal and illegal, encounter death and disabilities, adding another $504 billion a year to the cost of pain in America, according the Council of Economic Advisors.

PBM Therapy’s role in effectively managing pain and reducing the need for opioids, is being embraced by an expanding number of policy officials, scientists, and healthcare professionals.  The legions of patients whose lives have been saved using light therapy are building the case for adopting this innovative technology.

The Opioid Crisis Response Act (OCRA) was signed into law on October 24, 2018.  It mandated the federal government assess using technology solutions to manage pain.

PBM Therapy’s role in treating and preventing the terrible side effects of cancer chemotherapy and stem cell transplants is being officially recognized and accepted.  The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has successfully treated 850 cancer patients to significantly reduce oral mucositis, one of the worst side effects of cancer treatment.  Patients who had to suspend cancer treatment to recover their ability to digest food, are now progression free survivors thanks to PBM Therapy.   St. Jude’s Children’s Medical Research Hospital is currently implementing PBM Therapy for its pediatric oncology patients.

This June, the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) is officially recommending PBM Therapy as the Standard of Care treatment for side effects relating to high dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and stem cell transplants.  This is the first international endorsement of PBM Therapy’s effectiveness.

PBM Therapy is becoming the treatment of choice to help America’s veterans.

PBM Therapy is successfully helping Veterans at the Boston Veterans Healthcare System.  The ground breaking work of Dr. Marnie Naeser, has documented PBM Therapy’s effectiveness in treating Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), and Parkinson’s Disease.

Based upon the results in Boston, the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, and the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in West Virginia, are implementing similar programs for treating pain, reducing opioid use, and treating neurological conditions. They, and other Veterans’ Medical Centers, are assessing PBM Therapy for improving wound healing.

On April 24, 2019, the television show “Seal Team” featured a veteran suffering from combat-related Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) asking a Veteran’s Hospital doctor about using “Photobiomodulation” to treat his condition.  This was PBM’s first popular culture reference.

PBM Therapy is starting to move beyond the early-adopter circles of medical research to become an evidence-based treatment option for mainstream healthcare providers.  The coming years promise further dramatic advances in research and acceptance.

The Day of Light is heralding the Age of Light.

SEEING THE LIGHT

Also published on Newsmax.  #PBMTherapyHeals

Imagine being successfully treated, painlessly and safely, for a wide range of diseases and conditions. Imagine having a cure for chronic pain.

This revolution in health and wellness is already available and will be celebrated on May 16 as the United NationsAnnual International Day of Light.

On May 16, 1960, American physicist and engineer, Theodore Maiman, operated the first successful laser, achieving coherent and controllable light waves. This revolutionized manufacturing, communications, and health.

In 1967, Endre Mester in Semmelweis University Budapest, Hungary conducted studies to determine if lasers caused cancer. He shaved the hair from the bodies of mice, divided them into two groups and gave a laser treatment with a low powered ruby laser to one group. They did not get cancer. Instead the hair on the treated group grew back more quickly than the untreated group. The concept of "laser biostimulation" was discovered.

Today, “biostimulation” is known as Photobiomodulation (PBM). It is the process where a specific range of the light spectrum at the right intensity, when directed to the body for the right period of time, can restore the function of stressed cells to normal healthy operation. It is non-invasive, non-toxic, and has no reported side effects.

There are over 32 trillion cells in the human body. Each cell has hundreds of microscopic factories called mitochondria which combine oxygen with nutrients from the blood stream to make the cellular energy called ATP. This energy is used to help the cell live and to conduct its various roles in our body: keeping the heart beating, the brain thinking, the body moving, and the all the other functions that keep us alive and healthy.

Mester’s discovery was an epiphany. If specific light band waves can help cells to regrow hair, can they wake-up cells to do other things? Now over five-hundred human clinical trials and 4,000 laboratory studies have shown the answer to be an overwhelming YES!

PBM is now a common veterinary treatment for improving the lives of animals suffering from hip dysplasia and kidney failure. Throughout the world, forward thinking Doctors and Dentists are using PBM to successfully treat Oral Mucositis (side effect from chemotherapy), Dry Macular Degeneration, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease, Lyme Disease, and diabetic wounds. It also reduces pain and inflammation in various orthopedic conditions such as tendonitis, neck pain, low back pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Chronic pain costs Americans over $635 billion a year in additional healthcare costs and lost productivity. PBM is used for recovery and endurance by champion athletes. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, many Nike sponsored athletes used a whole body PBM product called NovoTHOR to help them train, recover, and win more medals. This led NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA teams to add “light beds” to their training regime.

A growing number of doctors and public health officials are exploring PBM therapy as an alternative pain treatment to Opioids. This may help solve the addiction crisis facing America.

If PBM is so effective, why is not everywhere?

Outside of the U.S. it is. Australia, Canada, England, the European Union, and NATO all recognize PBM, promote its use, and accept insurance coverage. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is slowly moving towards regulatory clearances for PBM light equipment to officially treat diseases and conditions. Currently, the FDA labels PBM devices in the basic category of infrared or heat lamps.

Until the FDA moves forward, U.S. insurance companies, except for a few BCBS affiliates, refuse to reimburse for PBM treatments. They remain a solid wall of resistance.

Medicare and Medicaid refuse to reimburse for PBM treatments. Federal Officials have labeled PBM “mumbo jumbo” and declared its successes placebo effect”.

The International Day of Light is an opportunity to alert everyone who could benefit from PBM therapy of its existence and promise. It is a time to ask public officials about ways to bring PBM into the mainstream of American healthcare. It is a time to ask your Doctor, Dentist, Veterinarian, and local gym/wellness center if they offer PBM therapy and if not, why not.

May 16 is an annual reminder that bringing light therapy into healthcare is long overdue.

It is up to all of us, for ourselves, our families, and our communities, to make the promise of light a reality.

Zimbabwe Hypocrisy

There was a time when Zimbabwe was a wealthy nation able to feed itself and export food throughout southern Africa. There was a time when there were no death squads, masses of refugees, or famine. Unfortunately, those were the days of white ruled Rhodesia.

When Rhodesia unilaterally declared its independence on November 11, 1965 the world recoiled. England initiated harsh sanctions that very day. The United Nations Security Council, with the backing of all western democracies, voted sanctions within the week. For fourteen years Rhodesia was a pariah in international circles. The UN passed numerous resolutions denouncing white rule and closing every possible loophole to deprive Rhodesia of outside trade and diplomatic relations. Rhodesia was barred from membership in the UN and all other national bodies. Only other pariah states like South Africa and Taiwan dealt with them openly.

Two armed insurgencies arose to violently confront the white regime. The Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) was trained and funded by communist China. The Zimbabwe People's Liberation Amy (ZIPRA) was trained and funded by the USSR.

The combination of violence from within and isolation from abroad forced the government of Rhodesia to agree to end its whites only rule. A major agreement with England was signed on March 3, 1979 quickly followed by interim elections in April. The US and other western powers ended their sanctions on June 12, 1979, once the transition to majority rule was well underway.

This history is in sharp contrast to the current reaction to Robert Mugabe’s bloodthirsty rule. Mugabe, whose Chinese-sponsored forces first crushed the whites, then his Soviet-backed rivals, and then the whites again, has always been a dictator. This is not unusual on a continent plagued with numerous sociopathic rulers. What is distinctive is not only how overtly and ruthlessly Mugabe has suppressed the last remnants of democracy and freedom, but that no one is doing anything about it. Of course there is lots of rhetoric and hand wringing. However, on July 1, at the African Union meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, there was Mugabe being seated, and openly meeting with his counterparts. Zimbabwe may be denounced, but its embassies remain open, and its memberships in all international organizations remain intact. No sanctions have been invoked by anyone.

This is the worst kind of hypocrisy. Thuggery is thuggery no matter the color of the despot’s skin. It is shameful that those nations, who so instantaneously and completely isolated Rhodesia in 1965, are now so willing to let empty rhetoric be their only response. The people of Zimbabwe have suffered enough. It is time to take decisive action.
